Happy New Year! (31/12/12)

Happy New Year to everyone! If you're across the globe from New Zealand, like UK, Happy Late Christmas!

When midnight strikes my family and I are going to watch fireworks, wear polka-dot clothes, have ten fruits surrounding the room and jumping for the new year!

I'll be taking down the background when the 3rd of Jan. comes up.

Merry Christmas! (25/12/12)

I've been waiting for this holiday all year long! Aside from my birthday, this is my favourite time of the year! Decorating the house, cooking delicious dinner, spending time with family; oh, I just LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

Later in the afternoon my family and I will attend a Christmas party with my mother and father's friends. I'm not that excited, though. I don't know why...

Last night we had a family dinner with my grandparents who came a long way back in our original home country. My mother had cooked ham, spaghetti and cheese (well, bought cheese. She just bought it from the grocery store). It was one of our rare dinners that didn't have rice on the table.

Since it's Christmas break I didn't have a chance to hang out with my teachers and friends at school. I really miss going to Primary school. Well, I wish them a very merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

To end this post, I would like to greet everyone (especially the ones who are lonely or celebrating their first Christmas without an important loved one) a very merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year (mind me saying that again, haha).

Graduation! (17/12/12)

On Friday (14th of Dec.) I graduated from Primary/Elementary! Today is the first day of the weekday summer holidays and since I don't have much to do today I will post about my final week in Primary/Elementary!

Monday.
Nothing important really happened. Just some practices for the celebration and graduation.
Got presented that triathlon was tomorrow (Tuesday).

Tuesday.
Was nervous for triathlon that I kept on screaming in class. My friends told me triathlons are not such a big deal if you win or lose.
Late morning came and the triathlon started. Swimming was first, then biking, then running.
Instead of swimming, I ran in the pool looking different than the others ACTUALLY swimming.
Biking time! I struggled to put on my helmet but got on with it then biked around the track looking crazy biking in swimsuits (I got so humiliated when boys were looking at me, eek!)
When I reached to the running stage I nearly fainted of tiredness and I went the wrong way (we were meant to turn but I went straight)
When it seemed like one thousand years, I finished the triathlon! I got in one of the last places.
Samantha E. didn't do the triathlon so she was left on the field burning (since there wasn't any shade).

Wednesday.
I actually forgot what happened when Wednesday stroke. I'll edit this post if I remember or someone reminds me.
EDIT:
My class and another class had a shared lunch in the school garden. On the picnic rugs were biscuits, sandwiches and other delicious and healthy foods.
My pikelets (mini pancakes we call here in New Zealand) that I cooked were gone by a minute that I didn't get a chance to have a little nibble.
My class and the other class pigged out on all the food and enjoyed it.
After the shared lunch we had another break to play with friends, run errands (if you're a senior or teacher) or do as you please.
When the break finished we had a secret Santa and this time it was just our class.
Whenever a boy has a girl or a girl has a boy for Secret Santa, we made 'eee' noises and felt romantic.
A boy got me for Secret Santa and my classmates made the 'eee' noise. I ignored it.
But lucky for me, I had a girl for Secret Santa.
The classroom was noisy filled with talking, opening presents and laughing. I loved that kind of noise.
Thursday.
The day of our Prizegiving. It was presenting the winners of the top four in each class, the student who showed faith in actions, 100% attendance, etc.
When they showed which house group (groups which participate in school events) won the most amount of house points it was my house group who won! Since I was a house leader I got up to the stage and accepted the award.
It was also the day when my best friend, Samantha, left New Zealand in the morning. Te Mania, Samantha I and myself took a final photo together along with two other girls who were our classmates.
In the evening we had a Thanksgiving mass and graduation.

Friday.
In the morning I started to cry. I am going to miss my primary/elementary school so much (I've spent five years studying there and I will miss everything we do at school) but I had to face the fact that I was finishing and I was only supposed to be there 'til year six.
School was going to end at 12:00pm so time was limited.
In the morning my whole class had a big tidy up putting all our desks on the lino, vacuuming the carpet and tearing off the paper on the walls.
When the final hour of school arrived all of the school headed for the hall to farewell the year six students going off the intermediate. Each year six held and candle and a laminated sheet of paper. The younger students sang a song to us.
At the end we did Gangnam Style and everybody hopped onto the stage and did the dance.
Gangnam Style playing on your graduation was awesome! It was possibly the best graduation of my life.

I felt so tired and sad about school ending. Well, once again, I had to face it. I just have to work hard and look forward to the future.

New Blog! (Again!) (15/12/12)

I have a new blog hopefully that I don't delete again!
It's called Stuff n' Nonsense... Bits n' Bobs.
This is a blog where I can post ANYTHING. From memories, to turtles, to random things I find in my house.
Where did I get the name?
I got the name Stuff n' Nonsense from a shop in Ann M. Martin's book series Main Street. I thought the name was very creative and so I used it.
Stuff n' Nonsense wasn't enough, so I added Bits n' Bobs.
Bits n' Bobs just came into my mind. I thought it was a very random phrase and since I'm a random person, I used it.

Why (8/12/12)

Do you ever wonder why I don't post much on my blogs?
Well, since I have spare time now, here is why:

1) Finishing School
I'm close to ending my primary school (actually I have one week left of it and it's so sad) and these days all I do is study and I don't want you guys to know about my boring studying days because you'll get easily bored.

2) Bookworming
My teachers want all students of my school (and me) to keep on reading because every year a bunch of students are getting low grades in reading. Even though I'm one of the best readers at school I still need to keep on reading.

3) Writing my First Book Series
Months ago I have told you that I've been writing my first book series, The Book of Natalie. Like Bookworming, this helps me to improve my grades in English.

4) Running Errands and Doing Chores
Since mum and dad are always busy and I'm the eldest child, I go busy running errands and doing chores. Toilet duty, window cleaning, vacuuming the carpet, you name it!

5) Samantha E. and Myself
Best friends need time together you know! Samantha is also always on the go and hardly has time for anything too. After she hangs out with her family or finds some spare time, she invites me to her house so we could do best friend things together.

So there you go! Things why I'm always busy everyday.
You guys might think that if I'm too busy to do blogging, I should delete it. Well, blogging is the best thing that makes me happy after a busy day and I try my best to keep this blog going.

Fresh from Year six Camp and Happy Birthday Sammi! (1/12/12)

Hello blog readers! I am back from camp and ready to write about it.
BUT FIRST...
It's someone's birthday today...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BESTIE SAMANTHA E!
I'm not telling how old she's turning but I would like to tell you more about her.
Samantha is a short, quiet and artistic girl. She loves to paint and collect Rilakkuma and Disney pins, but she hates P.E and people waking her up.
If she had to change her name, it would be Zoey.

Once again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAMMI (A.K.A Miko Meeks)!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
WARNING: LONG POST AHEAD
Now, let's focus on camp.
It was amazing. It was amazing that everyone wants to go back there.
It will always be a memory to everyone.
Camp is where you get to be free, travel, get delicious food and have fun with your best mates. (If it was an army training camp, forget what I said.)
And that was exactly what happened at our camp.
MONDAY:
Monday was the day when everyone struggled to carry their luggages, say goodbye to their families and friends and get bus sick.
After meeting in the school hall we headed for our two buses. Half of my cabin mates were on the same bus as me and half were on another.
Luckily not most people on our bus got motion sickness and luckily our bus did not break down, but the opposite happened to the other bus. So we stopped at a town called Matamata.
After a half hour break Bus B (the other bus) caught up, got the bus into shape and had a break with us then we both rode off.
Finally we arrived in Auckland and we entered Butterfly Creek, our first visit in Auckland. Butterfly Creek 'is the home to the crocodiles and butterflies and other animals', so we took heaps of photos of the animals.
After Butterfly Creek we went to the home of the Sister's of St. Joseph.We sang a couple of songs to them then had some food they gave us and looked at their archives.
Then we were off to the place where we were staying, Willow Park Christian Camp, to eat, sleep and do fun activities.
TUESDAY:
After a good night's rest we were off to Maritime museum to see their historical exhibits about boats (since they live close to the port of Auckland.
Later on we went on a boat to view the Port of Auckland. We saw groups of boats carrying cargo exported from New Zealand.
When the boat ride finished we rode on the Auckland Tram and saw places around Mission Bay.
Afterwards we went back to Willow Park Campus and played mini golf, tennis, ping pong and other sports.
WEDNESDAY:
The middle day of camp. This is my favourite day out of all days. Why? Find out by reading further...
Firstly we were off to the Auckland Art Gallery. We viewed the exquisite paintings and sculptures. Most of the paintings and sculptures were made overseas but we found some created in Aotearoa (New Zealand).
We looked for about a half an hour then ate morning tea.
After morning tea we told stories by using pictures.
When we finished we ate lunch then played a game using a ball and net and tossing it into the air lots of times.
 The Art Gallery visit finished and we rode the bus to the famous Sky Tower. We saw an amazing view from the top floor and walked on the glass floor to see what the astonishing view looks like from the floor.
Now, this is my favourite part. Are you ready?
As 8:00pm strikes, everybody puts on warm clothes, thick socks and gets ready to hit the road.
It was ice skating time.
While on our way to Paradice Ice Skating, my cabin mate saw this boy doing the Gangnam Style dance in his car. He was doing the dance for over ten minutes and Olivia and I were laughing our lungs out on the whole bus trip.
When we arrived at Paradice we immediately put our skates on then skated around in the dark with music booming.
This was my third time going ice skating and I get faster every time I go.
I learned how to skate as fast as pros without falling. One time I nearly fell but instead I did a 360 spin.
THURSDAY:
The trip leaders planned us to go to two factories that are famous in New Zealand: the place where they print newspapers, APN Printers and the famous ice cream company, Tip Top.
Our first stop was at APN Printers, where they print newspapers like the New Zealand Herald and Dominion Post. They showed us how they print newspaper, how much paper they use everyday and presented to us their robots who lift rolls of paper.
The Tip Top factory visit followed by and we saw how the ice cream is made, what ingredients they use and saw the other products they made.
At the end we got delicious ice cream for free and watched the history of Tip Top.
FRIDAY:
It was a sad time for everyone because this was the last day of camp.
But before the long bus trip we went to Stardome Planetarium and Observatory. We saw how the solar system works and watched a video that taught us about the seasons.
We saw constellations of stars. Most of them (maybe all, I don't know) are upside down.
We ate lunch at the park next to the observatory, One Tree Hill Domain, and went on the flying fox. The ride was scary at the beginning but it just got more hilarious at the middle of it.
Farwell, Auckland! It was time to leave for Rotorua. We also stopped at Matamata but it was a better trip than going to Auckland because the other bus didn't break down and not a single person got bus sick.
It was back to ordinary life in Rotorua. No more sharing rooms with besties, no more getting canteen food. Just back to the ordinary.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You guys may think that I go to Auckland too much and I bet you wanna know why.
It's because my parents have friends there and we like spending the holidays there. My family loves to travel.
And for school, they want older kids to get out of town by themselves and to learn how to live without family. They also want you to enjoy and live while we're alive.

NOTICE! (24/11/12)

Good morning from New Zealand, blog readers!

You should expect me to not update for five days which are Monday-Friday.
The reason is that I will be (are you ready?) going to Yr six camp.
Every year at my school seniors go to camp (Yr fives three days, Yr sixes five days)
The Yr five camp just ended yesterday and now it is the for the Yr sixe's turn!
Believe it or not, I am NOT excited. I'm scared.
Last year's camp was horrible because I had a fight there with my best friend (not Sam. We met after camp) and everything was not the way I planned it would be, so I think it will be like that with my dorm mates, Te Mania, the two Sams and my other two friends who shall be unnamed.
Anyway, I have all of my gear packed and I'm all ready to go!

Get Active! (Part two) (23/11/12)

Today we did the same things as yesterday but I said that I would explain the two games, the box game and Ti Uru.

The box game:
Set-up: Make a box with markers, cones, etc.
Objective: While riding bikes, avoid touching the ground with your foot, bumping or falling off.
How many players: Five-ten

Ti Uru is an old traditional Maori game.
Set-up: One small circle inside a big circle. Made by using markers, cones, etc. and one barrel inside the small circle.
Objective: One teams moves around outside the circle throwing a ball at the barrel while another team is defending the barrel.
How many players: Five or more (we played it with my class and another so there were probably 30 people)

Get Active! (22/11/12)

Biking, catching, throwing, balancing- oh, the possibilities are endless.
Today my class and another one had such a busy day excersizing that when we were finished we all collapsed to the floor.

First up was traditional Maori games. There were two men that taught us how to play games that the Maoris played. The first game that we played was called Mitimiti.The objective of the game is to lay out sticks and lay one stick in the center then place other sticks to form a horizontal mat then try to avoid stepping on the sticks. I think we played it five to six times. After that game was finished we played Ti Uru (you can find it out yourself, I'm tired of explaining now).
We played a couple of hand games then it was time for lunch.

Lunch was over and it was time to put on your helmet and head to the court with your bike.
When we arrived at the court there were three men who taught us some games to play with your bike. They taught us to scoot, ride in zig-zags, check our bike and helmet and taught us this bike game called the 'box game' (once again, I'm tired to explain but I will explain tomorrow).
"They make us do hard things and it's too hot to excersize." Samantha E moaned.
Luckily, the home time bell rang and we all ran off to our homes to relax and rest.

Dizziness (17/11/12)

Yesterday was HORRIBLE. I had a sore stoumach and dizziness. I was at church and then I had to get out because it was too loud and I couldn't stand up in less than one minute, and after church I had to co-MC for this 'assembly' thing. The pain faded for a little while but I returned a few minutes later.

When I got home The first thing I did was to collapse on my bed and boy it felt good to take a rest on a very painful and dizzy day.

Now I feel better on this day! Thank goodness I have recovered form the dizziness.

Marian's Everyday Life- Posting from school! Pt. 2 (9/11/12)

In my last post I was posting in school today.
I said that I will be posting when I arrive home so here I am (actually it's 8:10 now) to continue telling you about what I did today.

After assembly we had Golden Time and it was free time so I went on the computer and typed up random short stories that just popped into my head.

Lunchtime! we ate and I walked around the school (if you're wondering what my three friends were doing, they were playing on the playground and I told them I wasn't in the mood for playing).

After lunchtime I was feeling a little bit dizy but I still had some energy left in my body and drew some puppets for a puppet show. (my teacher sent my classmates and I to do a task about puppetry. You can see the explanation here.) After which seemed like 1,000 years, it was hometime. I immediately collapsed onto my bed and took a rest.

Marian's Everyday Life- Posting from school! (9/11/12)

Hello fellow bloggers,

Today I am at school! It's free time now (actually, all of the school are at assembly now and my teacher randomly let me go on the computer) and there was nothing to do from here except go on the computer and blog.
It's nearly noon, but I'll just post what I did so far today:

In the morning, my teacher told my whole class and I that we had to make a puppet show about a saint or a bible story. My classmates and I wrote the scripts, a sketch of our characters and the storyline. I'm doing the story of St. Maria Goretti of how she lived and how she died.

That's about it. When I go home today, I'm going to tell you the rest of how my Friday went.
Bye!

Jigwig (5/11/12)

Hello November! Sorry I haven't posted 6 days in a row. I have been doing nothing. Anyway, I have finally done something blog-worthy. Enjoy this post!

Samantha I. has created a new game called Jigwig. It is played on a playground (I don't know what the part of the playground is but it has four leather-covered chains) (two below to stand on and two above your head to hold on) and the objective of the game is to wiggle your legs to knock off people (but make sure the ground is soft, not concrete) and last one standing is the winner. You need at least 3-5 players. (You can play by yourself but it would be boring and dull without your pals.)
Well, guess who kept on falling off and guess who won? Samantha E. kept on falling off cracking up and Te Mania was the winner, while the other Samantha and me win and fall off at the same time. (How is it possible? Well, you see, you would be the last one standing then Samantha E. pulls you off and cracks up the entire time.)
We all laughed like little juniors and didn't stop playing the game until the bell rang.

KABOOM!

Okay bye.

H.A.L.L.O.W.E.E.N.! (31/10/12)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! I have a costume but I didn't go out trick o' treating.
So here are some photos to get your Halloween on! (from Google Images.)

Hello Alliyah! (29/10/12)

When my mum and I checked on my friend, Alliyah's blog, the top post unexpectedly promoted this blog saying "She has some AWESOME posts so be on a lookout for her throughout the school. She needs to get popular in the Cyber world."...

Well, first of all, thank you for saying I have "AWESOME" posts.

Guys, please do not find me at school or anywhere unless you know me in real life. I'm xenophobic.

I believe in the quote "Fame is not everything" and it's really hard to be both popular and famous.
You see, when you're popular or famous you have stalkers and psycho fans everywhere. I wanna be in the middle (which I'm already in) with just a small group of friends (up to 4-5) because I'm an awkward person.
When I first met the two Sam's and Te Mania they were the people who killed the silence. Laughing, talking and just doing the happy things you would probably love in a friend.

So, that's just my honest opinion.

The Book of Natalie: A Camper's Life. Written by Marian Yao
A Lifetime Diary: A Camping Experience. Written by Alliyah B.
Familiar, right? I don't want to (insert b word here) about it but my temper just went up by 60%.
"Marian! I didn't copy you!"
"Marian I did copy you and I'm not sorry about it because other people are writing about it."
Oh no. A situation. Help me!
Saskia, Paulene and Mele.
Samantha, Samantha and Te Mania.
Fluff. I'm still comparing.
"MARIAN! STOP COMPARING! GO TO SLEEP!" Says my mum.
Okay. This concludes today's post. Bye blog readers!

A Day at the Beach (27.10.12)

Today me and my family went to Pukehina Beach with my mum and dad's friends and children.
We didn't go swimming but we let our feet and legs touch the freezing water.
My friends' shorts and my dress got soaking wet from the high tide.
It was indescribably fun and enjoyable, even though we soaked our clothes and got sand everywhere.

Singing Contest 2! (26.10.12)

So today my four besties (the two Sams, Te Mania and my unknown friend) judged and entered a mini singing contest.

We kept on laughing while singing because we distracted the one who was singing, but it was fun and everyone had smiles on their faces.

The winner was Te Mania since she sang very good and did the high notes perfectly.

Drama With New Teachers (23.10.12)

This afternoon me and half of my class (not all of them because the room was small) went to a drama class with two different teachers.

To start it off the teachers told us a story about a man who came to an island and my classmates and I had to be born on that island and act the whole story out.

We all played some fun games and then the end of the school day came and we all went back to our classroom.

To be Published (If I ever get it done) (19.10.12)

This August in 2012 I started writing a chapter book called The Book of Natalie: A Camper's Life.
My book is about a girl called Natalie Kinly (A.K.A me) who goes to camp for 5 days with her cabin mates Miko (Samantha E.), Angel (Samantha I.) and Te Mania (Te Mania!) and they earn a handful of problems during camp time and it's up to them to solve their own problems.

Most of the characters are people who I asked the question "If you had to change your name, what would it be?" and they ended up being in the book (or to be in the book since I have just started writing).

The story is the same as what happened to me in my two camps, so in the future you can see what happened to me during my childhood camps!

Here is a sneek peak:

Save the best for last and enjoy life at its best. Hello, my name is Natalie Kinly. I’m twelve years old but some people think I’m thirteen just because of my tall body structure.
I go to Lady Mary’s High School as a shy Yr. 8. My partner in crime (that’s what I call best friend but I think it sounds fantastic that way) is named Miko Meeks. We both love to eat, watch anime, be crazy and talk a lot. She’s the same age as me and loves unicorns, rainbows and candy too. She’s shorter than my tall body figure (actually she looks like an eight year old) but has an amazing and awkward talent of drawing. We both have a lot of differences but we think it’s okay and fine to be best friends.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think it will get published by the time I am in my teen or twenties life because I think it's too early to publish it when you're still in intermediate.
So watch out for it soon!
Swimming! (18.10.12)
Today me and my class went swimming!
We did backstroke, treading water and freestyle.
At the end we had free time so we dived, crashed into each other and splish splashed in the water!
First Day of School and Announcement (16.10.12)
Since I missed school yesterday this is my first day of Term 4.
In the morning the two Sams and Te Mania along with me, my other classmates and teacher arrived at school and prayed the rosary because it is October- the rosary month.
After that all of the school went to maths class.
Morning Tea (A.K.A recess) came and we ate our snacks from our lunch boxes.
Literacy time! My teacher assessed me and my classmate's reading groups and the top and high groups (which I'm in) did the same work while the lower groups did different work.
Literacy went fast and it was lunch time. Te Mania and the two Sams and I ate lunch together and went to the library that was open during break time.
After lunch it was swimming time! I forgot my togs but I felt happy to see my classmates having fun swimming in the pool.
After they got changed back into uniform me and my class went back to class and went home at the end of the day.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ANNOUNCEMENT!

Since I've been busy lately I decided that I will delete my MMBR Blog.
I will delete it on Friday.
I'm so sorry to those who love MMBR but I'm too busy doing school and sometimes my family travels throughout New Zealand.There are better reviewers than me in this world!
 To the haters, you happy?
Hehe. I gotta go now. Bye!

Auckland! (15.10.12)

Me and my family had to be absent from school/work since this was an important travel.

Me and my family went to Auckland today to pick up my grandparents from the airport.

Before we picked them up, we first went to eat at McDonald's.

Then we went to Westfield Manukau to pick a suit for my day's work.
We only had 45 minutes to pick a suit because my grandparents' plane was about to arrive at the Auckland Airport.

Me and my family finished shopping then waited for my grandparents to come out of the arrival's door.

When they came out, we hugged each other since it was two whole years since we haven't seen them. (Six years for my dad.)

All of us went back to Unicorn and Rainbow Land (home) and rested since it was a long trip.

Reunited and Message! (12.10.12)

For this blog post, there will be a notice at the end.
So please read further.

I chatted to Sammi today via email today since it was the holidays and we haven't seen or talked to each other.
We talked about what we are doing in the holidays now.
Sam told me that she is learning to sculpt Lucy Heartfilia from Fairy Tail with clay and if she has finished it, she will try to make Erza Scarlet from Fairy Tail too.
We talked further on about some private stuff.
I felt reunited with her from two weeks without talking.

Now for the message!

If you wanna know where I live, the country is New Zealand but I will not tell what town.
But I will tell you where I wished I lived: Rainbow Land!
I like to travel with my family to different places throughout New Zealand in our car and sometimes we like to travel with airplanes!

Another thing is...
I will not be posting when I had nothing to do all day because that will just bore you to death.
So I'll just post on days when I have really done something!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARINA! (10.10.12)

Today is my favourite artist's, Marina and the Diamonds' birthday!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARINA LAMBRINI DIAMANDIS!

Shopping La La... (9.10.12)

Today me and my mum went on a tiny shopping trip at the mall.
We went to the Warehouse and saw my favourite artist Marina and the Diamonds' (it's her birthday tomorrow!) album 'Electra Heart' and Just Dance 4 but we decided not to buy both of them now because the album costs $21.99 and Just Dance 4 costs $69.00.

We window-shopped in some other stores and ate ice-cream from Wendy's.

At the end we went home and took a rest.

Cake Art Class (8.10.12)

Cake Art class was awesome!
Today I went to an Advanced Cake Art workshop. (I call it class but I think workshop is better.)
There were two teachers who taught us cake art techniques like how to use fondant, icing, etc.
At the middle of the session we started to decorate cakes.
Some cakes had animals on it and some had an 'under the sea' theme.
Mine had a music theme.
At the end of the day me and the other kids finished our cakes and showed it to our parents.

I don't know anyway. (7.10.12)

Blahhh. I did nothing today. Blahhh.
Wait for tomorrow's post because I am going to an advanced cake art programme tomorrow.
GOOD NIGHT NEW ZEALAND!

Hamilton! (6.10.12)

Today my family went to Hamilton where we used to live.

We went to a Chinese restaurant and we got heaps and heaps of food and it was delicioso!
Then we went to Dunkin Donuts which was just across the road. We got out the jumbo pack which included munchkins and donuts.
For the last stop we went to Garden fresh where we bought food that we usually don't have here in Rotorua.
Then we went back home to Rotorua.

Thursday, 4 October 2012

My friend's visit to my family's residence (5.10.12)

Today my friend came to my house!
She brought along some delicious buchi that she made. I thought it was delicious as candy.

We played Just Dance 2 on my Wii and we got tired after dancing to multiple song.

Then we watched a movie called How to Eat Fried Worms.

After the movie, mum cooked corn and we ate for a while.

Then we played outside with my friend's scooter and played tag.

The fun day ended and my friend's older sister picked her up.

Dancey-Dancey Dance! (4.10.12)

Again, clumsy me! I keep on forgetting!

-Marian

Today I did some random dancing but first, I stretched my legs, my arms and my body by doing some ballet dances I used to do at my old ballet academy.

I did some demi-plies, pirouettes, arabesque and other various stretches.

After ballet, it turned on my wii and played some Just Dance 2!
I did heaps and heaps and heaps of dances and I also went on non-stop shuffle.

Shopping Trip! (3.10.12)

I keep on forgetting to post on this blog!
I'm sorry if this made you angry because I had a sore leg and I couldn't move.

Today mum and dad and me went to town.
Our first stop was to McDonald's, since lunch was coming up.
We ate burgers, apple pies and drank coca-cola, orange juice and milkshakes.
Then, after lunch at McDonald's dad dropped me and mum to the mall because his lunch break was over.
Me and mum went to several different shops to buy food, clothes and other stuff.
We walked home and rested our tired bodies.

iPad App Reviews! (30.9.12)

I know this isn't my MMBR blog, but I'm just going to review some of my favourite apps on the iPad:

Subway Surf:
This app is like Temple Run and Agent Dash but it's in a 'subway style' versions.
In this app you have to run away from a train driver because you spray painted a train. You get to play various characters like Jake, Tasha, Brody, and other characters.
Whenever I play this game, I always crash into a train in the beginning of the game. Grrr...

STARS: 7.8/10

Draw Something:
In this app you get to draw things and your partner has to guess what you are drawing.
I don't like drawing that much, but this app can help you draw.

Stars: 8.6/10

Baking Cookies! (29.9.12)

Dear Blog Readers,

This blog post was supposed to go out yesterday but I felt dizy and sick so I skipped to type this and went to sleep.
Sorry!

-Marian

Today I baked cookies out of scratch.
I used a recipe from this website.
When I pulled out the tray full of cookies from the oven, the cookies connected to each other!
I let the cookies cool down for a bit then separated them from each other by snapping it then ate the cookies.
It was delicious! I ate probably a 1/3 out of all of the cookies.

Last Day of Term 3, 2012 (28.9.12)

Today was the last day of Term three in my primary school and this is the last time I'm going to wear my winter school uniform.
Next year I'm going to secondary (intermediate) school so I will miss primary school so much!

I earned a principal's award today and I didn't expect it. I was very surprised that my mouth formed into an 'O' shape.

This afternoon for Golden Time we danced to Gangnam Style by PSY and it was so hilarious and fun.

The day ended sadly by saying goodbye to classmates and friends for not seeing them for two weeks!

Fun Maths Class (27.9.12)

Today at maths class my teacher decided me and my class have been working very hard this term so she decided to teach us how to make origami pockets and got out some chocolate buttons to put in our candy.

To get the chocolate buttons, we had to answer easy maths questions that my teacher taught us about.
That was the last maths class for this term. I will miss that maths class!

Scraped! (26.9.12)

This morning when my class went to the school library, me and Samantha I. went through the library door pushing each other and my hand got scraped on the side of the door. Ouch!

OPPA GANGNAM STYLE! (25.9.12)

My whole class is obsessed with Gangnam Style.
We do the dance, the vocals and some of my classmates know the lyrics.
Samantha I. and Te Mania can't say Gangnam Style.
Instead, they go like:
Occa Gannam Style
Or:
Oppa Gngstyle
Or:
Oppagngnmstil

HANDSHAKE! (24.9.12)

At lunchtime me and Samantha I. made up handshakes.
One goes like:

*Fist bump*
Pow!

Second:
*One hand facing up and one hand facing down clapping*
*High ten*
*Twirl around*
*Arms folded*
OPPA GANGNAM STYLE!

Third one:

Don't talk to me! *Waving index finger*
Loser loser *Two hand's fingers form an 'L' shape*
Wnnabe *Two hand's fingers turn to make a 'W' shape*
Like, like *Two hand's fingers form an 'L' shape again*
Totally *Making a 'T' shape with two hands*
Rejected! *Hands flat and waving above your shoulder*

I Wanna Know! (23.9.12)

I wanna know who looks at this blog because sometimes I feel like this blog is like a desert.

Please comment so I can see who looks at this blog!

Rugby (22.9.12)

Today my two friends and me (not Samantha and Te Mania, nor Claudine and Germaine but my friends should be unknown) played touch rugby.

We did scrums, touchdowns, chases (eg. tried to chase the person who got the ball) and had timeouts.
Me and my friends were experienced in playing touch rugby, so that's good for playing rugby again.
The day came to an end. I think we played for 2 hours (or one, not too sure) and my other friend won the game with 5 points, leaving me and my other other friend 3 points (the other other wasn't a typo error).

Leadership Day! (21.9.12)

My school and some other schools' leaders attended the leadership day today.

We arrived at school at the normal time wearing mufti (wear anything you want) and stayed in our classrooms for two hours
At the leadership day, there were two people teaching us games and things leadership related.
During lunchtime, we got free hotdogs and juicies and we got the chance to talk to the teachers.
At the end of the day we returned back to class.

I found it nice and educational. I am very thankful to be a leader.

Freestyle Painting (20.9.12)

Today my teacher let us do painting and we could paint whatever we wanted to.

My three friends weren't there so I painted by myself.
I painted a colorful rainbow but there wasn't any orange paint so I skipped that color and went onto yellow.

After painting, my hands had paint marks. Well, that's what painters get.
MY HANDDD
My HANDDDD!
My rainbow painting.
My rainbow painting 2

No Talking Comp (19.9.12)

Today me and the two Samanthas tried not to talk for as long as we can.
If we wanted to contact each other, we would do hand signals.
No one won, since we kept on talking.
I bet you guys tried doing the game!

Olympic Rehearsals (18.9.12)

Tomorrow night is my classes' Olympic Parent Night.
Olympic Parent Night is a night where we show our parents what we have been learning at school about the Olympic Games.
We already practised heaps of times in the past so we got kind of used to it.
We did sport freeze frames (you try to do an Olympic sport in the shadow behind a sheet with a light trying to make it shadowy), danced to the Olympic Rock song, and other Olympic stuff.
We rehearsed till lunchtime, so we got a lot of training.

Nancy Drew: The Movie (15.9.12)

Today the weather was rainy and cold so I got out my pillow and blanket, turned on the DVD player and watched Nancy Drew.

Before the movie started, I predicted that it would be awesome and fantastic because this movie was based on my favourite book series and I think Emma Roberts is a good actress.

After the movie, I was right (a little bit actually).
I know this isn't my MMBR blog, but I rate this movie a 7.5/10.

My Birthday Party! (14.9.12)

Man, I'm so tired! Do you wanna know why?
Today was my birthday party!
My school had a Teacher Only Day, so mum planned to have my party today.
It all started like this:

This morning I did things like what a normal morning person would do (eg. eat breakfast, take a shower, make my bed, etc.) then got the party things ready for my two friends coming to my house first.
When my two friends Alliyah and Hozanna arrived, everything was ready: from food, to decorations.
We played some games on my wii then got driven to the movie theatre by my dad to watch Finding Nemo 3D.

As I expected in my mind, Te Mania and Samantha E. were there. (Samantha I. was in Tauranga.)
I greeted Te Mania and Sammi then went up to the candy bar to pay for popcorn and drinks and movie tickets.
While dad was paying for the movie tickets, me and my other friends saw my classmate Daniel and his family enter through the entrance. We greeted him then asked what movie he was watching.
He replied "We are going to watch Finding Nemo 3D." Turns out he was watching the same movie as us, so at school I can ask him how he thought about the movie.

Dad finished paying for the tickets and the food so we entered the movie theater.
While the movie was screening, Te Mania and Alliyah kept on talking. Good thing there wasn't much people in the theater.

When the movie finished, we all raced to the car and dad drove us off to my house.

As soon as we arrived at my house, we ate lunch and then ate dessert (which was cake) then went straight to my room.
We took some photos with my iPad.
Me and my friends did other fun stuff with the iPad and watched Nightmare on Elm Street.

Time passes and it's time to go home. Samantha was the first one to leave, then Te Mania, Alliyah and Hozanna.

When they all sadly left, I ate the leftovers of the party food and opened the gifts.
Samantha Espinosa gave me a red diary and a light blue shirt.
Alliyah gave me a grey shirt saying 'LOVE' and blue tights.
Hozanna gave me cute denim jeans.
Te Mania either forgot to get me a gift or left it at home.
The clothes Sammi and Alliyah and Hozanna gave me fitted me perfectly.

It was such an awesome party! I hope we can do it again next year.

Happy Birthday Me! (13.9.12)

Oh my! The months went so fast! It's my birthday today!
Today was just so perfect. The sun wasn't hiding, lots of friends and family greeted me and there was a disco going on at lunchtime!
Mum and dad gave me Now 39 cd, a new bed, hugs and kisses and a new magazine.
Sadly, my camera wasn't working so I couldn't take any photos from school. I'm sorry blog readers.
Mum made me a rainbow cake with Fairy Tail characters and the logo on it! It's so awesome!
You can see my mum in the background.
When you cut the cake, the cake will be rainbow-y.

When I walked inside, the classroom whiteboard was filled with birthday greets and some of my classmates just popped out and hugged me tightly saying "Happy Birthday Marian!"

Netball Practice! (12.9.12)

I signed up for Netball Day and the practices were held today.
The coaches were three netball players in the same year (grade) as me.
We played netball games like passing the netball, jumping over cones and shooting hoops.
We did one game of netball and my position was goalkeeper. I had to defend the shooter.
It lasted the whole lunchtime hour so me and Samantha E. didn't have the chance to hang out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tomorrow's my birthday! Yay!
I think I will bring my camera to school tomorrow to see what it's like on my birthday.
Pancakes! (11.9.12)
This afternoon me, Samantha E. and my classmate Karaitiana cooked pancakes for Olympic Cooking.
We used my dad's pancake recipe so we didn't have to stress about the ingredients.
We took turns flipping, mixing and spooning the batter into the pan.
When my other classmates tasted it, they loved it! Wow! I never thought they would like my dad's recipe!
Autographs! (10.9.12)
At lunchtime today, me and Samantha E were doing nothing so Samantha pulled out her notepad and pens from her desk, ripped out a few pages and started asking our classmates for their autograph!
We went around the whole school and asked classmates if they could write their names on the piece of paper.
I couldn't get all of them to write on me and Sam's papers because the bell went fast.
I think we got ten people to sign the paper...
Photo Booth! (9.9.12)
I was so bored today so I went on the IPad and took some photos in the photo booth app!
Rain, Rain, Go Away (8.9.12)
It's so cold and wet outside today in Rotorua! Here are some pictures outside:
Dress Up As your Favourite Character Day! (6.9.12)
Today was Dress up as your favourite character day and I dressed up as Stacey McGill from The Baby-Sitter's Club and Samantha E. went as Angel from Maximum Ride.
Me and Samantha were the only ones wearing wigs in our class, so heaps of people were asking us for the wigs.
Our whole class voted for the best costume and the finalists were the two Sam's and my classmates Sean and Maureen.
Samantha E. dressed up as Angel from Maximum Ride, Samantha I. dressed up as Katy Perry (Katy Perry is real but she still got accepted to dress up as her), Sean dressed up as Harry Potter and Maureen dressed up as Scooby Doo.
Some of my classmates didn't dress up because they didn't know what to dress up as.
Being Little Kids with my Bestie (7.9.12)
At morning break time today me and my bestie Samantha E. played on the playground for juniors because we miss being juniors.
We went on the monkey bars, slid down the slide, climbed up the climbing wall and sprinted on the bridge.
It was so awesome till the bell went. Grrr...
Calendar Art! (5.9.12)
Today my main class teacher wasn't at school today so we had my drama teacher replacing my main teacher.
We did calendar art for the whole day. Me and my classmates created a landscape photo of a view of nature. When we finished drawing we drew patterns on trees, hills, grass and other natural things.
It took us from morning to afternoon the draw because we had to colour it in and make patterns.
Library with the Sam's (4.9.12)
Me and the two Sam's (Samantha I and E) went to the school library to get inspired by the pictures of the characters' outfits for 'Dress up as your favourite character in a book or movie' day on Thursday.
I didn't really need to look through books because I already planned to do Stacey McGill from The Baby-sitter's club, so I was helping both Sam's decide what to dress up as.
We scanned through some books and helped each other who to dress up as.
At the end of the library trip, Samantha E decided to dress up as Nancy Drew or Claudia Kishi but the other Samantha didn't know who to dress up as.
Dance Party! (3.9.12)
It was a rainy lunchtime so Te Mania got out her CD and put it on the CD player in our classroom.
We danced and sang to songs like 'I'm glad you came' and 'The one that got away'. We didn't have any dance competitions because nobody bothered to host them.
We all sang and danced till the end of lunchtime. It's just song fun hanging out with your classmates like that in lunchtime!
Boredom Strikes (2.9.12)
This post was supposed to be out yesterday. I'm sorry that I didn't post yesterday because of chores and errands... AGAIN!
After doing all of the errands, mum was using the computer so I was stuck with nothing to do in my little bedroom. "Lalalalala" I said to myself. I was so bored so I took a nap instead.
FACT: I don't snore.
Books, Books and More Books! (1.9.12)
Goodbye August, and welcome to September, my birth month! I'm so excited for my birthday!
Anyway, enjoy this new post and Happy New Month everybody!
-Marian
Today me and my whole family went to the Rotorua Public Library and got 4 books out for me and my mother.
My mum rented a Reader's Digest magazine and a Netguide magazine while I got a Baby-Sitter's Club book called 'Kristy's Big Day' and a Nancy Drew book titled 'Civil Act'. Both Baby-Sitters Club and Nancy Drew  are my two favourite book series.
I read two pages of Civil Act then it was time to issue.
Mum let me use her library card since I left mine at home. I'm a klutz sometimes.
Then we went home.
The end.
Cool Runnings (31.8.12)
This afternoon for Golden Time me and my whole class watched the 1993 movie, Cool Runnings.
We didn't watch the whole thing though because Golden Time only lasted about half an hour.
Throughout the movie screening on our interactive board, my class giggled and chuckled whenever Sanka (Doug E. Doug) said a word even though it wasn't funny.
We all moaned when my teacher turned the interactive board off.
Even though if it just lasted 30 minutes, that was the awesomest (not the best, though) moment of my entire primary life.
Just Dance 2! (30.8.12)
Right after school today I already finished my homework, there were no exciting shows on the tv and my Wii was left there sitting on the shelf.
So I turned on the Wii, opened the CD case of the Just Dance 2 and slipped the disc into the Wii.
I danced to heaps of songs like Tik Tok, Rockafeller Shank and That's Not my Name.
After I danced to my second song, I started to get sweaty then I realised that the cause of the hot temperature was the heat pump! I sprinted towards it and turned it off.
I played until five p.m. That game's so addictive!
I Really Don't Know Why It's Such a Big Deal, Though (29.8.12)
I have got nothing to post about (again) so I'll just play around.
Oh look! Cute! Yum!
I LIKE RAINBOWS AND UNICORNS!
Pizza Party! (28.8.12)
Me and my class have been behaving well this year so my teacher made a pizza party for my class at lunchtime!
In the morning we paid for our pizzas then decided what pizza flavours we were going to get from Dominos. I got two slices of Simply Cheese.
When lunchtime came, we got our pizzas and munched away!
Samantha didn't know about it before in the morning so she got a mince pie, so me and her got out our food and had a mini picnic with our classmates!
Whoopsie Daisy! (27.8.12)
When I finished school, I ran out of the corridor and then slipped onto the ground making my left leg sore and uncomfortable. Even though my leg was stinging, I was chuckling on the floor while my classmates were worrying about me.
I had to go home with a sore leg and until now as I write this post, My leg is still stinging me. Ouch!
Saturday, 25 August 2012
Never Ending Chores and Errands (26.8.12)
Everyw weekend and every after school I have to do heaps of errands and chores such as cleaning up my room, washing the dishes or vaccuming the carpet around the house. When I finish, I always get a sore joint and I just rest on my bed or on the couch. (That's the reason why I sometimes forget to post on my blogs.)
Trip to Taupo (25.8.12)
Me and my family got up early today to go to Taupo.
The first thing we did was to see dad go bungy jumping. While dad was waiting for his turn, me and my mum and sister grabbed some chips from the snack bar that was right next to the bungy jump office. When it was dad's turn, mum got the camera ready. Mum filmed dad bungy jumping on the terrace where people get to watch. I hoped dad will be okay when he landed on a boat! When he came to the terrace, he was feeling a little dizy and tired. He sat down and rested for a while then went up to mum to see the pictures and videos she took and filmed. All you can hear during the video was mum yelling "Daddy!" we left the place and went to McDonalds to eat lunch.
After McDonalds, me and my family went on a 1 hr and a 1/2 scenic boat ride to see a Maori carving implanted on a tall cliff. "It looks pretty." I said as I got onto the viewing deck. My family took a couple of photos of the pretty and huge Maori carving.
The boat ride came to an end and we all rided on our car back to Rotorua in the afternoon. We were all pretty tired, but the trip to Taupo was worth it.
The Amazing Race (24.8.12)
For Golden Time this afternoon (if you don't know Golden Time, this post will explain in the last paragraph.) our class Room 5 did an Amazing Race challenge.
In my group there was Samantha I, Te Mania and my two Filipino classmates John Paul and Janna.
Our first task was eat snake soup (it was jelly with silicone snakes and bugs in it) and Te Mania took the challenge. Te Mania put a blindfold on and started eating with a spoon. On her spoon I saw a snake. She was about to eat it but the silicone snake dropped. When Te Mania finished the challenge, she took her blindfold off and moved on to the other challenge.
The next task was to count how many skips it takes a team mate to do in 1 minute. John Paul accepted the challenge and started skipping. He looked tired and stopped for about 3 seconds then got onto the business.
I think he did 35 skips? I'm not too sure, but he did a great job for our team.
My turn to do a challenge. The challenge was to go around the whole school playground with the obstacles like monkey bars, a bridge, etc. During the race, I started to slow down, but when I finished it, I starred at my hands and saw blisters everywhere. Good thing it was over.
My whole team and I walked to the sandpit to do the fourth challenge. The task was to make a sand  garden with nature's pretty plants. Samantha decided to do the challenge and got the base ready. She got some plants and started to burry it onto the base.
Janna was the only person who hasn't done one. Her task was to put her hands onto oily and slimy stuff and try to get three f's written on a jellybean. "It's so slimy!" She screeched as she tried to pull out jellybeans.
When Janna finished, it was time to edit our video my other team mates filmed while they were doing the challenges. On the class iPads, we went on the iMovie app and edited our individual videos with music. We were demo-ing the music and found the perfect audio to go with our shortened clips.
Our team finished our editing on the iPads and then went back to class and fnished the day with a prayer.
The hometime bell goes and me and my class go home with our backpacks on.
The on from the top is a wristband that says NZ Rocks (since I live in NZ)
The sparkly blue bangle is given to me by my mum since se doesn't need it.
The red one was given to me when a NZ author came to my school.
And the last bangle is a bangle that has pretty flowers on it. This bangle has fabric on it.
Newspaper Fashion Show! (21.8.12)
All day until lunchtime, my class and another class made outfits using newspaper.
There were dresses, armour, hats and other accessories.
In my group there were two people. (excluding me.) Those two people were Te Mania and Samantha I. (Samantha E. was away.)
The model was me. I felt uncomfortable wearing newspapers around my body because they wouldn't let me walk properly.
While my partners were designing, some people past me and said "You look nice Marian!" Of course I thanked them.
Samantha I. and Te Mania designed an outfit that looked liked a Kyoshi Warrior from Avatar: The Last Airbender. It had a hat, a huge dress and two handheld fans.
When Samantha and Te Mania finished the newspaper outfit, it was time for catwalking.
Te Mania presented the outfit in a clear voice.
I started walking crookedly and nervously because my Drama teacher was about to take my photo.
I held up my paper fans and covered my mouth and nose then leaned a little bit to the right.
After my catwalk, I saw the other group's outfits. "Nice structure!" I said in my head.
At the end, the bell rang. We scrambled out the door and sprinted towards our class.
I don't know what to post (20.8.12)
This post was supposed to be posted yesterday, but I was trapped in my room doing homework.
I'm sorry blog readers.
And the question is...
After a hard day at school/work, you feel tired, but there's no bed nor couch.
What would you do?
Basketball Games! (18.8.12)
Today me and my family went to my friend's brother's birthday party.
When after we sang Happy Birthday to the birthday boy, me and the people who were invited to the party and my friend who was hosting the party went to the backyard of the house to play a couple of games of basketball. It was one against three, since our one opponent was already good at basketball and the three of us didn't really know how to play.
We dribbled, shooted, guarded and tried our best to score more points.
At the end, we didn't know who won because we didn't have a score board/keeper but all of us had fun and practised for future basketball tournaments.
Nothing to do...
Today at school was kinda boring. There was nothing interesting today. But I hope I do something blog worthy tomorrow...
But anyway, I'll just show you 4 ways how to wear a school jersey:
3 DAYS TIL MMBR BLOG OPENING
Drama Class (13.8.12)
Today my other drama teacher played fun and exciting games. We had to take our shoes off because the floor of the room just got cleaned and we might've  scrubbed our shoes onto the clean shiny floor.
The first game we played was The Name Game. We all gathered around in a circle and started the game. we patted our hands onto our laps and clapped then said our names around the circle. When the game ended, it was time for another one.
The second game we played was Concentration Game. It's sort of like 'The Name Game' but after we clapped our hands, we clicked our fingers and instead of going around the circle, we got to pick the people who hadn't had a turn.
The third and my favourite game was called Cavolia. The teacher told us to do several actions when she says 'Freeze'. There are poses that are called Rockstar, Farmer and his Wife, Horse and Rider, Proposal and my favourite one was called Charlie's Angels. My friend Te Mania won the game since she was a fast freezer and got people to be her partner fast.
And the final game was called The Object Game. My classmates grabbed a random object in the room and then placed it into the middle of the circle. We took turns picking an object and try to use it for another purpose.
Then, the bell rang for lunch. We went back to our classroom and enjoyed our lunchtime.
Blog Re-edit (12.8.12)
I just re-edited the Natalie Kinly blog. It's no longer Natalie Kinly, it's now called Marian the Anime and Vocaloid Lover. You can visit here.
I added a new background photo of Hatsune Miku and Megurine Luka because... Um... You know. Vocaloids? Haha.
Anyway, there's a music player that starts automatically, so if your volume is up to 100%, I suggest you should lower it to 10% if you're using earphones and with no earphones, it should be between 20% - 30%.
I'll be posting about anime, vocaloids, events that relate to vocaloid or anime, awesome cosplays and more about anime/vocaloid!  Please visit approximately 2 times per week because every week I will be posting 2 posts.
I hope you enjoy my re-edited new blog!
