Singing, How About That? (10/2/14)

If you read my second blog, Electra and Marian, you'll know that I'm planning to take singing lessons this year. I had my first lesson which was an evaluation to see how my voice sounds like. Here's the story:

I walked into the music suite, and I was greeted by the head of the music department. He asked why I was there in the middle of class time. I simply told him about my singing lessons and he lead me to a small room. I already knew about that room because I signed up in that same area. I knocked on the door, not being clear of what was happening inside since all of the rooms in the suite were very soundproof, unless you were playing a loud instrument. I knocked more, but the only thing I heard was a mumbling chatter. I finally had the confidence to open the door, but the teacher was also holding onto the doorknob. Embarrassing moment #1 accomplished. Well done Marian!

As I walked in, the teacher welcomed me. I was supposed to take the evaluation with a couple of other people, but they didn't appear to be there. She asked me a few questions about music, like what genres I prefer, if I play a musical instrument, etc. After the questions and answers, the teacher and I headed to the brown, small piano and she played some keys while I gave her a demonstration of my voice. Honestly, I probably sounded like a cat dying because I forgot to drink lots of water and practise before the lesson.

The lesson didn't take an hour, but half of that. It was pretty unexpected because I thought it would take the whole time of the class period. I had dance class then and we were creating choreographies. I went back to dance and waited 'til the day after (today) to see what time my lessons are.

Taadaa! I have no idea how to end this blog post. I'll tell you what I'm doing right now as I write! I'm chatting to my friend and she's currently making me laugh now! And it's also her birthday, she we're really hyped about that now. That's the reason why this post was published so late into the night. I'll see you on Electra And Marian tomorrow for Letters to Electra!
